Guys!

In my HP DV4 laptop i installed both IE 8 and Firefox browsers (3.6.6). Unfortunately after their respective installation i started to use IE in my office (WiFi) and firefox at outside net cafes.

If i try to change this usage it is not all doing. Further i used to update definitions for W defender and other windows update only at my office. If i try to it outside, it is not doing.

Why this problem? Please provide a practible solution.

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit)

If you are trying to do Windows Update via the web browser, it will only work in IE, that is due to Microsoft programming.

What do you mean by change this usage?

No my friend. I am trying to update W defender/W update directly by accessing them from control panel itself.

Usage means practice.

To make you clear: 1. If i update w defender and w update at my office (Wi Fi) i am successful and not in outside. Why this?

2. Further, IE is not usable outside my office and Firefox is not usable in my office. Why?

It has to do with the network setup and security settings. You'll need to goto the Windows Vista forum for help as it's a root system problem and not a problem with Firefox.
