Hello all,
I plan on purchasing a whole new computer within the next 2 weeks or so and I picked out the Gigabyte 7VRXP KT333 motherboard with built-in LAN and RAID...4 IDE connectors total. I chose this board not because I want to hook up a RAID config but because I'll have 4 IDE devices: 2 hard drives,1 DVDROM, & 1 CD Burner. I've read that it is more efficient to have each device on a separate channel rather than 2 devices sharing one channel. My new drive, Western Digital special edition 80GB, will have winXP and the other drive will serve as media storage. Will this 4 separate channel setup prove to be beneficial? And if so how exactly should I connect my 4 devices?
