I recently setup Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on my laptop successfully. I shared my wireless connection with the wired ethernet connection and then connected the wired port via crossover cable to the client computer. Everything worked great!!
When I turn on the firewall (Symantec) the connection gets blocked. I need to have the firewall turned ON without changing the current firewall settings. To get around the firewall I have been contemplating a new option and need help/thoughts on this idea.
I still want to "Share" the wireless connection of the host computer but I was thinking about sharing the wireless connection through the USB port instead of the wired ethernet card. Then I would use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter cord to connect the host computer's USB port to the client computer's ethernet port. Would this work?...and if so would it solve my problem of bypassing the firewall?
Thanks!
John
