Icon 'pictures' are all blank.....

Hi there,

I recently cleaned my laptop using WinXP Manager. I used the Registry cleaner, and the junk file cleaner, did a few tweaks and uninstalled some unused programs. When I restarted the laptop, a lot of the icons displayed from my programs were replaced with the icon you see if it does recognise the file type...All MS Office icons, iTunes, Messenger, Adware etc all have blank icons, but the programs still work.

WinXP manager has a 'repair icons' feature but that did not work.

Can anyone help me restore my icons?

Try using Tweak UI, it has an option to rebuild icons in it. Once it's installed, launch it and go to repair in the left side menu. The first thing in the drop down list that comes up on the right should be to rebuild icons. It's a small download, just scroll down about half way and look for TweakUI.exe 147 KB. Part of MS's powertoys for xp.
