OK, this is a performance/graphics setting. Right-click on My Computer, click Properties. On the Advanced tab, click on the Settings button under Performance. You will likely have all checkboxes unticked. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, and second from bottom should be "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" - make sure this is now ticked and click OK.

Hi, this is propably a simple thing but i cant figure out how to fix this !

Basically thers boxes around the icons and i dont like them ! they werent there before but after my winxp reinstall pop now they are here... i dont want them there i want them gone
