I have an ibook G3 that will not turn on. I'm not sure, but I think it's because long ago, the wire in the charger I had split open and it started sparking up by where you plug in the power supply. I got a new charger from a friend and the other night, that mysteriously stopped working. So my computer was at 0% (the battery) and I closed it, and when I opened it again, it wouldn't start up, and still won't. I don't know if it's burned out or what...I tried to plug in my father's charger which works..and start it up. But it still won't come on. So please, if anyone knows anything I can do, please reply.

Does the computer do anything (make noises, any indicator lights on, etc.)?

If the computer doesn't do anything and resetting the PMU doesn't help, you may need to take the computer in to Apple.

I'm having this same problem. I just got an iBook G3 off of eBay, and I can't get it to power on. I've tried it plugged in with and without a battery, and reset the PMU. And I've got nothin. I may run it to the apple store tomorrow...

(Oh, and sorry for bumping such an old thread. I just found this on Google :1angel:)

When you plug in the plug from the AC adapter what color is it? If it's charging the battery it'll be orange, if the battery is charged or not being used it'll be a solid green.
