Hey, I am having trouble with bluetooth on my R51, I downloaded the driver and software for the R51 (1829). However, upon installing it lectures me on how it does not detect a device. Any ideas?

As per the Lenovo support page for 1829-W1H, this model/type does not have bluetooth... bluetooth comes in select models only.

i also double checked using the S/N you posted and parts list for your laptop does NOT include bluetooth.

Here's the service manual: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/39t6190.pdf

Here's the Lenovo support page based on type/model (1829-W1H):
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s...vm&operatingsystemind=49979&machineind=169529

Here's the Lenovo parts listing page based on S/N:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=LOOK-WARNTY
- enter Type and S/N information and click CONTINUE
- on the succeeding page click View parts lookup results for this system
- this will bring you to the page with the parts listing specific for your model and serial number

sorry about that...

although i have read somewhere that the modem can be replaced by the bluetooth/modem card (would require some rework but nothing major). i do not know how this is done (or if it will work) but it surely looks like a good project (or should i say experiment).
