Hi,

I am presently purchasing parts for my new system an Intel i5 2500k. I am looking for the best heat sink and motherboard for this system. I presently have purchased the following:
1. PSU - Corsair HX750
2. CASE - Cooler master CM 690 II
3. VC - Powercolor HD 6870
4. HD - WD 500GB Sata III
5. OD - HP 1270i Sata LS
Any assistance in this endeavor will be greatly appreciated.

If you have no intentions of overclocking the standard Intel heatsinks are typically pretty decent. I'm honestly not sure what aftermarket coolers are compatible with the new socket, so I can't really recommend any of those at this time, but Zalman are typically good coolers.

As far as motherboard, I prefer ASUS and Gigabyte for motherboards. Find one that has the number of ports you'd like / need and you're set. Also, make sure it's the latest revision of the board. The sandy bridge had issues with the first set of boards to the market, I think they're on Rev 3, so look for that or B3 to be in the listing for the board.
