Hello,

I can't find a blank floppy disc to save my life!
Can I just make one of my DVDRW drives bootable?
If so, HOW?
I'm sure this is possible but is there a down side or a reason not to do it?
I'm considering updating my BIOS by using a bootable CDR.

Your system should already be capable of booting from the optical drive(s). The trick is that the cd must be bootable, as a system disk is. This does not sound to be a very old computer, why do you need to update the bios in the frst place? Are you having issues that you feel a bios update will alleviate?

Don't Do It!!

Whatever your problem is, I can (almost) guarantee you it is not going to be solved by flashing the BIOS.

It sounds like you have more serious problems than being unable to boot from CD. Did your Hard Drive die ?

thanks for the advice

Actually I'm not really having any problems at the moment.
Just playing around & learning as I go.
I guess I will leave messing with the BIOS until my current computer becomes a second computer !
thanks,
