does anyone know of anykind of hardware that is used to test processors. We have some used processors in our office, but i don't know if they are good.

You can use an old computer with a compatible main board to test them. Just use a DOS boot disk or an old windows 98 CD and boot to DOS.

i test processors in an old board with memtest.

i figure, if it will run memtest, it's probably a good processor.

a freind of mine always tests everything with knoppix, but it requires more of the machine to be there.

Mine might be a little extreme when i have time i do a windows install testing the ram and cpu at the same time. ( memtest is efficient )

memtest ?? what and how do you use it.. it asks what drive or summit what do you type
