i have a dell dimension 8200, that i got a year ago. it has a 1.99 gig processor and geforce4 mx420 and 256k ram.

I recently have been having problems with it and would like to know how to completely reboot it. I'm not sure if thats the right term, but i want to completely start it from scratch again, like it was new. I've done it before on a different computer but it was years ago. Can someone help me out?

Are you saying you would like to whipe everything on the hard drive clean and start fresh as when you first got it? If so do you have a CD from Dell that says restore on it? You will want to use that CD to whipe it clean and start fresh again.

yes, thats exactly what i'm trying to do.

however it does not appear that I have a disk marked restore, nor one with that function on it. neither does my dad who owns an earlier Dell Dimension.

are there any other options?
