I had you run BFU to take out the the main infection. If you look at your log, you will notice the notable absence of this entry

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsupdater] C:\Program Files\winsupdater\winsupdater.exe /auto

If you feel ill confident about me helping you with your log, that's okay.
I'll try to get some other analyst to come have a look at it.

Hello sarto,

You were in excellent hands with sUBs and I am here to assist you at his request. Your system has more than one infection and most times, these need more than one pass to clean and need to be dealt with in stages. Please try to be patient with this cleaning process.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad since you will not have any of browsers open while you are fixing this.

Please download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/.

1. Install Ewido Security Suite.
2. When installing, under 'Additional Options' uncheck:
* Install background guard
* Install scan via context menu
3. Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double click it.
4. The program will now open to the main screen.
5. When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning 'Database could not be found!'. Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
6. You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.
* On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
* Then click on Start Update.
7. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. The status bar at the bottom will display 'Update successful'.
8. Exit Ewido. DO NOT scan yet.

If you are having problems with the updater, you can go to http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/ to update manually.

Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link doesn't work) and install it. Do not run it yet.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

DNS

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: Internet Explorer Web Content Catcher - {FFF4E223-7019-4ce7-BE03-D7D3C8CCE884} - C:\Program Files\DNS\Catcher.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [] winlog.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rjibd] C:\WINDOWS\system32\fsejt\rjibd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FiYNA8] "C:\DOCUME~1\ARTASH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\cxtpls_loader.e xe" /PC=CP.IST2 /SHUN /UNAR="/CTUN" /PC=CP.IST2 /SHUN /UNAR="/CTUN"
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [] winlog.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [services32] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-58-12-0000140.exe

Delete the following Files and Folders if they still exist.

C:\Program Files\DNS
winlog.exe Do a search for this file via Start>Search and delete
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fsejt
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows\mc-58-12-0000140.exe

CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp!.

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
*Click "Options..."
*Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
*Put a check next to the following:
-Empty Recycle Bins
-Temporary Internet Files
-Delete Cookies
-Delete Prefetch files
-[X]Scan local drives for temporary files (Please uncheck this option)
-Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program. Reboot/logoff when prompted.

Now open Ewido and do a scan on your system.

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* NOTE: During some scans with Ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
o You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
o If Ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
o Do NOT select 'Perform action on all infections'
o If you are unsure of any entry found, select none for now as the action.
* Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
* Click Save report.
* Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Reboot and see if you can enter Normal Mode now. Please run another scan with HijackThis and post the log here along with the results of the Ewido scan.

Hi Art,

That's fine. Run a second scan with Ewido and post the results of the second scan here. I'm certain it will be much smaller than the first.

Since you mentioned you have another problem too, I'd like you to run a second scan. Different Anti-Virus programs find different things.

Perform an online scan using Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan - requires Internet Explorer

  1. Click on the Scan your PC button & a 'pop up' window shall appear. * ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
  2. Click On 'Scan Now'
  3. Enter your e-mail address & click 'Scan Now' ...begins downloading Panda's ActiveX controls.- 8MB
  4. Begin the scan by selecting My Computer
    * You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
  5. If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report. Click on see report
  6. Then click Save report
  7. Post the contents of the report in your next reply along with the results of Ewido

* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Hello Art,

Download KillBox http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/KillBox.exe.

Reboot into Safe Mode.(tapping F8 or F5)

Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Ctrl-C:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cache32_rtneg3
C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\a.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\a.exe[mc-58-12-0000140.exe]
C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\a.exe[al.exe]
No disinfected C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\ab.exe[mc-58-12-0000137.exe]
C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\ab.exe[to.exe]
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ab.exe[mc-58-12-0000137.exe]

Start KillBox.
Go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
Verify that you've done this properly by clicking the dropdown-arrow next to the Full Path of File to Delete field. The filenames you pasted will be found in there.
Select/tick the following:
* Delete on Reboot
* End Explorer Shell While Killing File
* Unregister.dll Before Deleting" if it's not grayed out.
Click the RED X button.

Click [Yes] at the 'Delete on Reboot' prompt. Click [No] at the Pending Operations prompt.

Empty the contents of this folder :
C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT --Do not delete the folder itself, just what's in it.

Reboot into Normal Mode. Run another scan with Panda and post the results here along with another HijackThis log.

Reboot into safe mode.

Open add/remove programs and remove InetGet if it's listed.

Delete everything in the Norton recycle bin. The delete the following files/folders...

C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\ab.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Artashes Sardarian\al.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ab.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ab.exe

C:\Program Files\Common Files\InetGet <--folder

Reboot back to normal mode....run Panda again and post it's log.
