I need help with the desktop fast!

Yesterday my computer was working fine, now I fire it up today and it loads like normal, but after it says its loading my settings and the music comes on nothing on the desktop shows up. No icons, no taskbar, can't right click to get into settings yet I can still move around my mouse and alt-ctrl-del to task manager. I'm on the computer right now only because I opened the help topics in task manager and found an option to get on the net. If you have any idea what I can do to fix this or what is causing this to happen please reply, I'll be waiting for the next couple of hours while I download a virus scanner to check my files.

I have 512 DDR, GeForce 4 Ti4200, KT333 Dragon Lite, dual 300 power supplies, AMD 1800+, SB PCI 512.

Also the default screensaver comes on after one minute which is not what I set it to. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I also noticed that when I go to some webpages I get this error:

"Warning: Failed opening '/export/http/forum/docs/languages/deleted/generic.php' for inclusion (include_path='/export/http/forum/include:.:/export/http/include:/export/http/docs') in /export/http/forum/docs/main.inc.php on line 41

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'languages//wwwthreads.php' (include_path='/export/http/forum/include:.:/export/http/include:/export/http/docs') in /export/http/forum/docs/wwwthreads.php on line 11"

well it sounds like explorer isnt loading? that is what used to happen to me when explorer would cause an illegal error or something. im not sure how to fix it though..sorry
I'd start by booting the CD and doing a system repair.
Try finding 'systray.exe' and 'explorer.exe' in the task manager processes list and end them both. Then restart them, starting with explorer.exe from the 'run...' box.
It sounds like a corrupted registry has made your system a paperweight, this used to happen all the time to me when I was using MistakeEdition(Windows ME). Just use your system disk to restore an earlier version of your registry and see if that corrects the problem.

The web errors you listed were just that, web server related problems, looks like the webmaster messed up a line of php code somewhere. You may want to drop him an email once your system is back up and let him know he may be unaware of the problem. ;)
I'd also suggest an investment in Norton GHOST for image backups of your boot partition! Here's an unbeatable deal on Norton System Works Pro 2003 for $10, and it includes GHOST.
