Running Windows Vista.

Ok, I am pretty much at a lost a to what to do. So will start from the
beginning.

About a week ago started having problems with internet explorer. So, I cleaned the disk, defrag, etc, etc. I also reset my computer back to a day it was working well. That worked for a day. First problem was I could not get google to work. I would google a topic, it would get to the topic pages and freeze. So, I did what I said previously. Plus I got rid of several tool bars as many were duplicated. That worked, sped up internet, could use Google.

Next a friend told me about some programs, first was to clean out my computer, it is Malwarebyte, then I went to Ccleaner, and then Reg Defender. Then I downloaded Firefox..from Mozilla. Ok, Now I can not get Java to work at all, need it to play Runescape. Today, in Firefox I can not use google, it gets to the topic page and freezes, works in internet explorer.

How to fix any of this is way above my head without direction.
Anyone that can help me please. I need google to do my job, and would like my computer working correctly.

Thanks yall in advance.:4-dontkno

What you need to do is stop some of the extra third party programs that you don't use or really need from starting up with your computer Try START - run - type: msconfig then click on the start up tab and uncheck all the programs you don't want to start up with your computer (don't uncheck any anti-virus programs) then click okay and restart you computer. Then try disabling some of the toolbars, cause they my be messing with your browser. Post back with update

Hi, by now you will have a damaged registry, go to programs and features and uninstall reg defender (it will do far more harm then good to your computer). Keep Malwarebytes and CCleaner though ONLY run the clean files options NEVER run the REG fix. Now also uninstall Firefox. Reboot your computer.

Now go to start, all programs, accessories, and right click on command prompt select "run as administrator" copy and paste the following at the prompt press enter, reboot to take effect.

Code:
netsh int ip reset

You might like to download Firefox again if you wish. BTW what Anti Virus have you and what firewall is running?
