i need your help guys. my monitor won't let me apply resolution settings any higher than 800x600; when i click APPLY it goes black and says "Out of Frequency", so this is what i did:

- i reboot the PC, entered to BIOS or CMOS (i don't know which one, just pressed the key that says "Press ___ to enter Setup") then went to Frequency.

- i changed the Frequency to 132 MHz (which, it says, is the maximum) from 100 MHz (which, it says, is the minimum) and then saved the changes.

- the PC booted automatically, but the monitor won't open. It's like it was shut down. the keyboard also went dead.

- we tried unplugging and plugging the monitor and keyboard to no avail. the CPU itself is working fine as far as i could say, but the monitor and keyboard aren't.

My questions: what should i do? do i need to buy a new CMOS/BIOS thingy, or do i need to replace anything? or if i need to reset, how do i do that? and if it will be resetted, should i reinstall Windows?

please help me. my mom really loves using the PC since she's so addicted to Plants vs. Zombies :'(

thanks in advance!!!

Clear the CMOS. The instructions should be in the motherboard manual.

And your monitor settings aren't related to the changes you made in the BIOS. Ensure you have the latest video drivers installed.

Clear the CMOS as suggested by Dogg.
Most common procedure:
UNPLUG the power cord from the PSU-Move the CMOS jumper from pins 1 & 2 to pins 2 & 3 for ten seconds-move the jumper back to pins 1 & 2.
