And when it happens again? Please follow Spunks advice. FYI Malware can also be used to spy on your on line activity. It can also eventually bonk your computer and the only remedy is to bring it back to it's original state. Your backups would be contaminated so not only would you have to reinstall all programs, bring the OS up to date, but also lose all your personal stuff.

And don't use this PC for important things like banking, shopping or logging into some important website until then!!!

A virus is not that nice and will just delete itself after a restart.
