I think I have majorly screwed up!

I have a Dell desktop with windows 7 professional that I recently bought refurbished. I can't remember the exact stats of the computer but it's working great. I noticed that on startup that it wouldn't log into my desktop without me clicking (user) which took me straight to the desktop. All I wanted was for the computer to automatically boot straight up by itself without me having to click user. I googled a tutorial showing to which explained to Open the Start Menu, type netplwiz in the search box, and press Enter. I did that and entered a username and password and unchecked the box stating "users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

I rebooted and the name I had chosen "mark40511" comes up and it's asking me for a password so I enter the one I set, but it says invalid. Honestly, I just should have left well enough alone because I had no clue it would cause me hours of trying to get into my computer with no success.

I have googled and tried to password recovery tools from bootable CD's and I had luck with Hirens but the username I had chosen wasn't even there. The only login option that display on my startup are "mark40511" and Other user of which both need password.

Please help :)

Actually - I just tried something and it worked. If I go to "other user" and type in the username "administrator" that logs me into the admin account. If I type in the username "user" that logs me into my account. I don't need a password.

But I can't figure out why the account I named mark40511 keeps coming up at start up saying invalid password. I don't even see a mark40511 in the user accounts at all.

You'll probably see it in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\
CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList, but don't delete it there or change the Dvalue since you're happy with how thing are.
