I just installed a windows XP computer in my network and it cannot see my '98 computers, nor they it.
I don't have a firewall enabled, I have NetBEUI installed on the XP machine (and the others), All are in the same workgroup, all are on the same subnet... by DHCP.
???

Most networks don't bother with Netbeui. I only have the TCP/IP protocol installed, and everything works fine. Is there a special reason you are using NETBEUI?

Also check that the network address is correctly being assigned by DHCP. Double click on the LAN connection in the taskbar, and click on the 'Support' tab. It should say 'Assigned by DHCP'. If not, try rebooting the PC and router.

Double check the settings in your router too, you may have reduced the number of IP's it is allowed to assign.
