Hi all from a newie. I have browsed and found the items on ASUS and BELKIN of interest.
Recent purchase of ASUS A604g Router and after a struggle have managed to connect by cable BUT going wirless? it drops out when i go more than 12 feet in line of sight from the Router. I have read the X-lab report on the item and they got at least 30 feet with only a drop of bandwidth of 50% and that was with objects in between including brick wall.
There is no way this is going to work with 4 Pc's in rooms on two floors.
I was thinking of buying a Belkin Router as i live next door to their UK depot and have other Belkin products but i am now wary due to the feedback on this forum.
Does anyone have any advice on a router that has little or no problems??

The solution may not be a new router, but rather increasing the range of the current one. Also, you should try a number of channels before giving up, wireless interference can be a major factor in range.

Hawking Tech has a number of products that will help you increase your wireless range. The root page is Hawking Hi-Gain™ WiFi Range Extending Products.

Some of the more interesting products are this Hawking [HSB2] Hi-Gain WiFi Signal Booster, which can be used on either end of a wireless connection to boost the signal power.

Another way to increase your signal strength is by the use of hi-gain antennas. You can choose from omni-directional or directional models, here are a some examples.

Thank you, for your help info.
I have looked and am impressed by the Omni Directional so i might try that first just got to make sure all compatable to UK use. I will post on my progress if of help to others.

Any of the many different brand name omni-directional antennas should work, providing your wireless device has the reverse SMA connector which is pretty standard for removable antennas.
