I am working with a program called Altova, which converts .837 files (a format used by healthcare companies for patient information) to .txt files. Right now I have to convert each file one by one, which takes a lot of time. If anyone knows how to easily merge all the files into one .837 file or if anyone is familiar with Altova, and knows how to run a whole batch within that program your imput would be greatly appreciated.

Do you convert them in the Altova program?
Can you attach one of the .837 files and the corresponding .txt file?

Yea I convert them in the Altova program from .837 to .txt, but it takes a long time to do it because I am working with several hundred files and have to do them one at a time. Unfortunately I cannot attach any of the files because they are confidential medical records. Do you have experience with Altova?

No, but the files might be a common Access or DBase database file in which case you could use other utilities.

I dont think they are, because after they are converted to txt, I transfer them over to access.

Have you tried to just open one of the .837 files in Word / Excel or Notepad?

Just tried it, doesnt work. Has to go through Altova in order to convert correctly. It doesnt make any sense when I just open it in Wordpad.
