HP vs17x LCD Monitor

I am in the process of replacing bad capacitors on the HP vs17x. I have removed all the screws from the top of the circuit board but there is still a whitish colored piece of plastic in the corner that connects the circuit board to the casing. How can I safely remove this and put it in place when I'm done? Also if there is anything I should know before proceeding, I would appreciate that information also. I don't have much experience in repairing hardware but this seems to be a relatively easy fix.

I fear such information may be beyond the scope of the average users of this forum.
From what I hear, the HP vs17x monitor is notorious for bad capacitors. Hasn't anyone had this problem before? I would think this would be somewhat of a generic issue.
It may be a common issue, but we don't typically deal with 3M type repairs. We mostly deal with card level troubleshooting, not component level.
