HP Scanjet 5p Scanner problem with Win XP Pro

I am trying to install a HP Scanjet 5p Scanner with Windows XP Pro. Problem seems to be the drivers and software. I would welcome updated information and a way around to install and operate with XP Pro successfully. The scanner is connected to Adaptec scsi card.

I am extremely grateful for your assistance and information. I will give it a whirl and fingers crossed, I will be up and running.
