HP PSC 2110 script error

I have a desktop pc with xp and HP PSC2110 printer that worked great up until SP2 was installed. It seemed like after that the HP director will not open and basically none of the untilities will open without numerous script errors popping up on the screen. Tried talking to microsoft and got nothing. Tried with HP, but they want like $50 to try and help me. Anybody have any good advice? Thanks for the help.
