I have set up my printer so that it is connected to my router with an ethernet cable. I have 2 Windows xp home edition computers linked to the router. One computer has a wireless connection and the other has an ethernet link to the router.
The printer will scan and print from the computer which has a wireless link to the router with no problem. It works fine as the administrator or limited user.
The printer will also scan and print from my other computer which has an ethernet link to the router, but only when I am logged in with administrator rights.
When I change user to a limited account, I can print but I cannot scan. When I try to scan from MS Word I get the following message: The ADF cannot pick up the paper or the paper is jammed.......... I click OK then it says An error has occurred while acquiring an image. So it knows I want to scan but ig gives me a printing error message NOT a scanning error message:upset: When I try to scan by pressing the Scan button on the printer I can choose the computer I want to use, select to Scan as a Word doc but then it fails and says it did not have a connection to the computer. Then the printer loses the name of the computer that is linked by ethernet to the router and I can't scan when I am admin but I can print.
I have tried with my firewall on and off but the same happens.
Please help because I am stuck on this one. :4-dontkno
