HP pavilion laptop goes into sleep mode upon start up

Running Vista. The other day I put my laptop into hibernate and now will not come out. Tried shutting down, which it does but when I turn it back on goes directly into sleep mode. Read other forums tried pushing F10 & F8 but to no avail. Logo screen never comes up. I have been having problems already with the laptop going into hibernate while using my webcam or watching a video. Normally it would always turn on again after a bit. Now it is stuck. Please help!

What model Pavilion?

Perform the following steps:
-Remove the battery and Power adapter
-Press and hold the power button for 30-45 seconds (with battery and power still removed)
-Insert just the battery and attempt to boot the laptop.
-Insert just the power adapter and attempt to boot the laptop.
