HP Pavilion DV9700 Displays a green color

My HP Pavilion DV9700 background color turns green. It bleeds through any screen I have up. It will change back to normal when I move the move the lid back and forth . The lid does seem to have a little play in it. If I hook up an external display, the external display has no issues
I am running windows vista home premium 64 SP 2
All drivers are updated to include the Bios

hi jdeilus welcome to tsf,

sounds like you might have a cable problem, are you still under warranty?

No my warranty is up. I think the cable is not loose but damaged where is goes under the hinge. I checked the connection at the LCD and the board and the connections were tight. When I move and twist the cable around the area of the hinge, the screen turns green. I think there is a wire broken. When I move the lid back away from me. the broken wire looses contact. When I move the lid back closer to me, the cable retracts and the broken connection make contact again. I ordered the cable, but I will have a pro install it for me. I really don't want to mess with the tape in the back of the LCD
I seem to have the same problem.
I figure you must have had the new cable installed by now.
How did it work for you??
