I am new to linux. I recently bought a mini with 8.04 Hardy heron OS. I am trying to download a windows program( Brain Fitness Pro ), onto my Mini. I downloaded WINE onto via a terminal window. Version 1.3.37 and then attempted to download the windows program. The program installed into my desktop. The desktop shows the Brain Fitness Pro File, a ink. shortcut file with it and the Wine 1.3.37 download( The Wine appears to have installed into my OS and opens when I click the WINE tab). The Brain Fitness Pro Files won't open, there are no error messages and the program does not attempt to open. Should These files be in the application area with my file manager. Do I need to open them with another program? I am a newbie and am totally lost at this point. Thanks so much for any help you can give. Joe

Hi Joe,

I've had plenty of trouble with WINE in the past. It's not exactly a full proof program for playing windows games, sometimes a lot of tweeking is needed. Have a look at the software or package manager and search for playonlinux, this app is like a front end for WINE making it easier to install programs. If you can't find it on the software repositories then the website is http://www.playonlinux.com/

I'm pretty new to linux aswell so hopefully from one noob to another this helps :whistling:
