HP Laptop won't find an access point

My laptop's wifi search thing, you know, the thing that finds access points and whatnot, won't turn on. It just says there is no wired connection avalable. (Pardon my horrible spelling.) But it was literally working, 5 minutes ago. I closed my laptop, 5 minutes later I opened it back up, and all of a sudden, it said there was no connection. My router is working fine. But my laptop can't even look for a access point. It just says that I can only hook it up to a wired internet.

Please help.
