HP laptop connection problem

I have a HP (pavillion) laptop which is now not connecting to wireless internet. It was working perfectly. The wireless assistant states connection and signal are good but the homepage will not display. Anybody else have this problem? It has windows vista and avg antivirus.

Just solved the problem by restoring the registry in windows vista. Thank you this is one of the most extensive sites I have seen!
