I have an hp laptop that isnt old, its a g61-511wm When you turn it on all you get is: A disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart. Of course it keeps saying this whenever you restart. It came with Windows 7, and I do not care about losing info, I just want to be able to reload windows ( I have the DVD) I keep getting the error code: CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code: 5 I read online somewhere while searching for a fix, that the bios is outdated or something and you would have to install xp to be able to get an operating system on it so you can upgrade the windows 7 cd into it. I put my xp cd in that I know works, and I get the blue screen hang up.. Any advice on what to do, Im all out of luck. Thanks in advance

Im sorry if I asked something thats already been asked (I searched hard before posting), just wondering why I'm not getting any reply. I know forums have certain rules and I hope I didn't break any, just really need to get this fixed fast. I really need this computer by tomorrow becuase I'm on a borrowed computer right now. Thanks
