Hello,

Been having a few issues with a HP design jet 650c.

Issue 1: Plotter does not recognise paper being fed in.

When I initially started troubleshooting this plotter this wasn't one of the issues. The paper fed in automatically like it was meant to, although now it does not. When pushing the media into the plotter it refuses to recognise the paper and stays saying "load media to align pens". A previous recommendation was to manually feed the paper in, although when doing this it did not recognise any media still. The media sensor may not be functional but the strange thing was that it worked for me a couple weeks ago.

Issue 2: Cannot print from plotter via networked computers.

Before issue 1 was an issue the plotter would print the demo prints from its utilities menu and it would print them accurately. When printing from any networked printers it does pick up that something was sent to it but it only prints out a very small patch of blue somewhere on the sheet of paper it prints out.

Any help with these issues would be greatley appreciated,

Cheers.

You may need to prime the tubes.

Set Flag to Prime Tubes

The purpose of this utility is to prime the Ink Supply Tubes after they have been replaced (or if a situation arises where you need to force the priming procedure).

Prime the Ink Supply Tubes as follows:

Make sure that you install Printheads that haven’t had priming already done to them.

1 Hold the power button down and press the cancel button three times and the resume button three times.

2 Switch Off the printer and then On again in order to start the priming of the Ink Supply Tubes.

Hello, I was unable to find a calibrate paper feed option, there also isn't any resume button on this plotter. Nevertheless I was able to get the plotter to recognise the paper and get to 'ready to plot' status via other means.

Although when attempting to print to the plotter after displaying 'recieving' for a really long time it then displaying 'calibrating' as if to say it's about to plot and then it comes up with the system error with error code 070000 00000001.

Any ideas? thanks for your help so far anyway.

Have you tried calibrating as noted above?

hi
as per Christon's reply - I am unable to find a calibrate paper feed option in any of the setup menu's levels, there also isn't any resume button on this plotter

when I manually load the paper it plots fine but still won't automatically load

regards

Ian
