My hp compaq nx6125 laptop is not working. when i plug the power code(with or without battery) and turn on the power switch, it won't start. but after few minutes, it automatically turns on and power button flashes for 5 times, screen goes black(won't show anything) and then it automatically turns off. it continues to do this and i don't have to touch anything..
please help me with this, I really need this laptop to work..

  • Test output voltage of AC adapter or test it in another (similar laptop).
  • Test battery in another (similar laptop).
  • Test CMOS battery and replace as needed.

Also Try to:
  • Startup on battery only
  • Startup on AC only

If symptoms persist or if this has been done...

Try the steps below:

  1. Power OFF the computer
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Unplug AC
  4. Press and hold Power ON button for 30 secs. at least
  5. Put back the battery
  6. Plug back AC
  7. Power ON as normal

If the same thing happens...

  1. Take it apart/Disassemble the laptop
  2. Remove the rest, except RAM, mobo, LCD and power ON switch
  3. Power ON using adapter

I did everything...! but nothing is working...! do you think it's mother board...!??????
Have you done the last part (disassemble the laptop)? If so, yes it could be the motherboard but I suggest you try a good/working RAM first (remove all that are currently installed).
first post here, so hi guys and gals.

i also have this laptop and have power problems how ever if i wedge the tv remote under the power jack where it goes into the laptop it works and powers up and is usable.

I got given this laptop so if i can get this going it would be wicked.

Is it possible to buy a new power jack and solder it on to the laptop? to replace the faulty one
