Computer was working fine and shut it down for the night. Tried to start it in the morning and it won't boot. Hp Blue screen apears with 4 options- then changes to black screen and tells me to enter the device media and press any key to reboot the computer.. I have a lot of information in this computer that I need access to. Any ideas on what I can do to get my computer to boot. I am unable to access the System Recovery or the Diagnostics. I can enter set up and boot options. The only boot option availabe is from the dvd. I live in an isolated area and do not have a computer repair person available. Is there any things I can try that might resolve this issue?

Assuming you mean you don't want to lose that info, my best advice is to have the hard drive slaved and recover the info before you do anything else.

If it's a desktop, you might do that yourself just by installing a new hard drive, disconnecting the old one, installing the OS again, then slaving your old hard drive (all of which people here could help you with).

If it's a laptop, and you have a desktop, same thing (other than you'll need either an external USB enclosure for the 'bad' hd or an adapter to use it in the desktop internally).

The PC is OEM so installing the OS on a new Hdd may not be an option unless the OP purchases a copy of Windows.
What are the 4 options on the Blue screen?
