how to

Mandrake 7.0 on the internet acount is asking for
DNS IP address. Where can I find that infomation on windows 98.
Because he has windows 98, And he all ready has an acount on windows 98. See he wants to put that info that he has on windows 98. And put it on Linux......

What ISP?
What program in linux are you entering this information into? (I assume your using the KDE or GNOME environment)

Please let me know which one as well.

Also what type of connection (Cable, DSL, Dial Up)

On W98, just do a Start/RUN and type winipcfg. You can then select the More Info button, and you'll have all the IP addresses you need, default gateway, DNS, etc.

On a side note - is it even possible to use AOL with Linux? Not that I would do it by choice, but my parents use AOL and when I'm at home during the summer it's that or nothing. I couldn't seem to get it to work.
