Hi all,
I have downloaded the .zip files from Memtest and made a "bootable" floppy and CD-ROM (two different files). I don't understand how these tests are executed in Win XP. Can someone give me a step by step on getting this test started? I tried changing BIOS to boot from CD-ROM 1st, but with Memtest in the CD-ROM drive I get an error message like not a system disk or something. I am not doing something correctly but I don't know what. I would like to test my 1GB of RAM as I am shortly going to upgrade my mobo and processor. This mem will be transferable. I will also be posting a question about that upgrade soon.. Thanks for your help and input.

Change the boot order in BIOS to floppy first, insert the memtest floppy, reboot and follow the instructions.

What a dummy! I forgot to change boot order to floppy. I was changing it to CD-ROM and trying to run a floppy. Guess I'm running in reverse today. Thanxs for setting me straight. It, of course, worked well with 0 mem errors. -razz:
