I have a Sony Vaio laptop. The model number on the back of the machine is pcg-7a2l. However, I am trying to access the bios to enable me to set the first boot device to the dvd drive. When I try to get into the bios in the ways I know of or have found, so far, it does not work.

When I try to look up the model number, even on then Sony website, it is not there. I have seen reports that this is not a real number but is a cover for some other number. I tried to use Hiren's to identiffy the real number. However, the machine will not boot to the cd, hence, the above part of this post.

When I get the message to choose between the HDD and the CD, the computer will not let me change the default value of HDD.

Can anyone help???

I have been to that site. It is helpful in general, but none of the suggestions worked in this situation.

also either F2 or delete usually gets you into the bios just hold it on boot
