hello forum members.

specs first; I have a acer aspire 5000 with xp home 80gb 512ram 1.8ghz turion.

Is there such thing as a safe number of programs to have running on this laptop so as not to slow down the system. I dont mean actual up and running programs but the total on the system.

it depends on how many of these programs start at start-up. as long as you have room on your hard drive, you can put as many programs as you want. but running them at the same time or at start-up, will slow you down some.
