The Athlon 64 3200+ will beat it by a little, as will a Sempron 3400+. It will be a pretty good laptop if you upgrade it to 1 GB of RAM. Just don't expect to get a long battery life out of it, and expect a lot of heat.
That would be quite powerful - though not the sort of thing I would go for. It has got a CPU too powerful for a laptop. And CPU doesn't say much in laptops.
The memory you might want to upgrade, as TheMatt suggested. The graphics card shouldn't be too bad. The laptop can only get an hour battery, which is the problem with that CPU. Like TheMatt said, it would also have a lot of heat.
If you can get it for a good price, then it is good, but don't pay alot for it.
how much heat? iv heard p4 runs hot but i have no idea how hot
and by not bad graphics you mean?

thankyou for all your help :)

It depends on how much pressure you put it under, but it is going to be at temps around 65+. Probably a fair bit more.

It will play some games, but not all. You may find them a bit laggy, and some you just wouldn't be able to play. It depends on how intense the game is.
Less voltage to the CPU could be set to maximize the battery life as with the RAM.

A cooling pad can be bought that you rest your laptop on which keeps it a bit cooler.
is that Degrees C? wow thats real hot on your lap

surpose i wanted to buy a laptop (which i dont) for playing games
would i be better off using this laptop or using a sempron 3400 with a geforce go 6150 or radeon express 1150? battery isnt an issue

Yes, and yes, it is.

Well, they are intergrated. The other one will probably be better for gaming. They would run a lot cooler though.
and by 'the other one' you mean??
The P4 laptop would be better for gaming. The Sempron 3400+ would be a slightly better CPU, but the X600 would make a large difference over the integrated stuff. BTW, it will get very hot since it is a Prescott P4. I highly recommend you look at these cooling pads if you do get that notebook.
hmm do you know how good a pentium M 715 1.5ghz is compared?
That CPU is quite weak, a 3.0 GHz P4, a Sempron 3200+/3300+, a Mobile Athlon 3000+ would all be better. But it would get very good battery life. For the Pentium M laptops, look for the Pentium M 740 (1.73 GHz) and above.
what do you think of a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO A1667G?
that seems like a good system
That looks like a pretty good laptop! You would be able to play alot of high end games on that.
From what I have found:
Mobile Athlon 3400+ or AMD Turion MT40
512 MB of RAM installed
Mobility Radeon X700

It is the best laptop mentioned so far. If you upgrade to 1 GB after you buy it, that will be a good gaming laptop.

That one is pretty good, though I would want one with at least the full 1 year warrenty, brand new. Also, I like to have the OS on it already, as it means you don't have to find all the drivers for it. It can be hell doing so. And you will have to get a copy of a OS of some sort.
For the dutch keyboard, what you can do, is get stickers, stick them onto the keyboard, for the right letters, and then select it as a standard English keyboard.
The Pentium M 740 is pretty good, it would be about equal to the 3.0 GHz Mobile Pentium 4. The Mobility Radeon X700 would also be good for gaming. I would go for the Fujitsu Siemens AMILO you posted over this if you added more RAM, though. If you don't want to upgrade, then this is the best choice.
well i bought one for £500
also i looked around for reviews and i couldent find one for the spec this one has
could it be a dutch version or something?
