The network we are using right now consists of a Dual-T1 line, which is running off a Cisco 2800 Series Router. We also have a DSL Modem (bridge) serving clients in the same physical building. Is there any way to set up local traffic to route locally instead of going over the internet? Is it possible to connect the DSL modem to the second ethernet interface on the router and have it configured that way?

Right now we are kind of 'cheating' because we have both the T1 and DSL lines plugged into the same public segment VLAN, which is definitely wrong but works. I put a route statement into the T1 router that routes all DSL traffic thru the router so now it's down to 2 hops instead of 10, but the DSL modem is just a bridge and the router is hosted by the ISP, so i'm not sure how we would do that..

Any opinions greatly welcomed.

Hey Bmr, sorry for the delay in my response. Since you have one and only one route point in your environment, looking at your design I would route the DSL into the 2811 to solve this. It would give you a central entry point into your environment which would also allow you to deploy ACL's on the router itself to further lock things down.

Also, this type of design I believe would scale well since you can continue to bolster control points throughout the environment without having to make wholesale changes to your design.
