How do you alphabetize bookmarks in Mozilla?

I went to "Organize Bookmarks" and clicked on "Name" at the top of the column.
All the bookmarks now appear in alphabetic order. You can sort ascending or descending. My problem is that once I close the "Organize Bookmarks" section all the bookmarks appear unorganized like before I went into "Organize Bookmarks."

Please help. I feel like a dunce.

When you click on 'Names' in 'Organise Bookmarks' it only re-arranges the display of them in the Bookmarks Manager, rather than actually moving them around. Here's some information about arranging bookmarks. Hope it helps:
