Hi

Firefox opens in that little window left of my desktop. I can click maximize twice and it fills the screen. But I can't figure out how to make it open full screen right off the start.

Firefox normally opens the same size as when you last closed it. Personally, I don't have stuff like the browser start when I boot, so I can't say I've ever checked what it does in that case, but it doesn't seem logical that it would pick a small size to open.

Exactly how did you arrange for it to start at boot, just by putting it in the StartUp folder?

Well I have tried everything. Settings, Pulling bottom corner like you said, nothing works. I do know how to use a computer. I have a family member, that has been on computers all her life and she can't do it either.
I am going to remove firefox, reboot, download firefox again and reboot.
If it does not work, I will have to switch to my wife's favorite browser "Chrome".

Thanks

How to open firefox maximized? | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support ?

Or, while Firefox (or most any other browser) is open, simply press [F11] to toggle full-screen On/Off.

Something else I've heard is get the Firefox window the size and placement you like then while holding down the [Ctrl] key, click the red [X] to close Firefox. Now reopen Firefox and it should re-open back to the position and size you had it.

There is something going on beyond me.

I am not a techie like you guys but I know my way around computers. Simple problems I have always fixed eventually with often help from here. This one does not want to fix.

SpywareD I tried the link you provided but the thread is old and it seems "properties" can't be accessed anymore on new versions (I hope I am wrong here), I did what he said and did a web search on how to find the properties on new versions to no avail.
I can't find in settings anything letting me start Firefox maximized either, in older browsers tutorials I do. (Again I hope it's me too).

It works when I press F11 but all the buttons (Close, refresh, maximize or minimize...... are gone). So I right clicked and found the option to display the toolbar. Well it does not appear.

The CTRL and X trick does not work. I closed and tried 5 times.

No way to put the cursor on the borders and drag. I have known this for 20 years. I just tried on Chrome and it works like a charm.

Corday I just downloaded firefox over firefox like you said and no go. It placed a new icon on my desktop, I clicked it and bingo it opened maximized. Closed and retried several times and it does not work.

I looked at my extensions, I have Bitwarden my password manager, HTTPS everywhere and Ublock origin. No clue why that Ublock origin is there but these 3 have been installed forever.

I am going to reboot after I finish a few things I am working on. This got to fix it I hope.

Otherwise I will just have to open it and click on maximize twice or use Chrome.

I really appreciate all the help and time in helping me. It's not you or me, there is some sort of deeper problem.

Thanks again

 In my Firefox 95.0.2 64-bit, grabbing an edge, or a corner of the window and pulling it works for me here.

And, with only a single Firefox window open. resize it, place it where you want on the screen, then while holding down the left [Ctrl] key and use the mouse to click the red [X] in the top right corner of Firefox. Re-open Firefox and it is exactly back on the screen where I had it as well as being the same size.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version 21H1 (build 19043.1415).
