When you go to Help, About Windows 98 on a system that I KNOW is running SE, it doesn't specifically say SE under the about tab. So, if you've got a system and you don't know whether it's running SE or not, how can you verify it?

Thanx.

Right click my computer and go to porperties and under the general tab it should show you what version of windows you're running and what SP you have.

hmm

mine seems to say what it is, perhaps yours is ashamed of itself.

did it ever happen to be close enough to a machine with xp on it to see it and get jealous?

Bob Vila has it right, right click on My Computer and click properties. Click the general tab and you should see what version you have. If it doesn't say Second Edition, then First edition it is.

Or you can take the short route.

Start

Programs

Accessories

System Tools

System Information

Sorry Speedo, you are not correct. A) Because it is not quicker
B) It does not specify SE but says Windows98 4.10.2222.A

Right click My Computer/Properties is still the quickest and accurate method.
