You're only looking at your network connection link speed not your actual internet connection speed. To check your internet speed. There are several sites you can check.

To answer your original question, 100mbps is almost as fast as very old PATA HD bandwidth. So, if somehow you get an Internet connection of 100mbps, you can open pretty much any file on the Internet almost as fast as if the file was on your local HD.
