How can I find out what programs are running?

But seriously, do you mean when you start windows, programs starting that you dont want? Can you be a bit more detailed please?

I've shut it down SEVERAL times! I can HEAR something running, and when I try to do scan disk, it tells to shut down all programs that are running...but I don't know what they are!

What do you mean you can HEAR stuff running? Are you talking about software or hardware you want shut down?

It its software, then control/alt/delete, and end all running programs from the running programs list. Depending what version of windows you have.

To find out whats currently running on your system goto Start> Run> and type taskman.exe

It will bring up a box listing all currently running programs on your computer, but be careful what you stop, especially in M.E. if you breath of that OS wrong it will crash.

This is why Im glad your here! I couldnt remember how to do that! XP is so easy!

yah, XP is my OS of choice to, stable as or better than win2000 but with gaming support.
