First off I want to say how happy I am that I found this website. Wish I would have found it sooner. Very new to this so I apologize for the randomness of this "build".

So this is my first build. It didn't start as a build at first, just thought I had to switch the power supply. After going and getting a new PS I found out that my motherboard was fried. So I bought a new motherboard off of Newegg along with a new CPU and RAM as I figured that the old stuff I had would no longer work (this being an 'upgrade' from a Dell I purchased in 2001-02. So everything arrives and I find out that my motherboard won't fit in to my case due to a metal divider F'ing it up. So I hop back on Newegg and purchase a case and, what the hell, I'll get a new graphics card too since I'm not sure if my old 9600gt could possibly be fried as well. Oh, I snagged a new HD as well.

So now I'm sitting here with half of my stuff. My case, hd and graphics card should show up on Saturday and I shall commence the build. I plan on starting with Win XP and upgrading to Win7. I also plan/hope to use my old dvd drives as they didn't have any issues that I knew of. One note on the HD...I pray that I will be able to somehow get the data off of my old HD. It has 10 years of music on it that I never backed up. Yes it was stupid as hell but I learned my lesson...Big Time.

So enough about my stupidity. I'll show you what I got. I would greatly appreciate any feedback from you all. Oh, and I'm mostly an MMO person; WAR, DDO, thinking about RIFTS.

**Disclaimer** As I found this site after the fact there aren't any of the recommended hardware in this build.

the power supply you have choosen is a rather mediocre unit / while thermaltake does make high end units like the Toughpower the linked one is a far cry from that!

biostar IMHO is like a 4th tier motherboard manuf I think you would do much better with a gigabyte or asus board

your links are for a tri-channel memory kit (as used by the intel i7 1366 socket) and your linked board uses dual memory kit / if you dont install memory in matched pairs your system will run the memory in single channel mode instead of dual channel which will result in a noticible performance loss

if you are a serious gamer your might end up disappointed with the 4670 is rather weak for a serious gamer / although it will satisfy some less demanding users if game settings are set low and the power hog features are disabled

Look over our suggested build list as suggested by linderman. They all use top quality parts that we know to be compatible.
