I need to get the clutch off of my Homelite 27av UT 10830 chainsaw.
I know it threads on with reverse threads and all.
I need to know how to lock the engine (crankshaft) for removal.
The only thing I have found said to get a bolt and screw it in to the spark plug hole to prevent rotation.
Im pretty sure that I dont like that idea. :4-dontkno
Im hoping someone has either a better idea or can give me some reassurance that this will work and I will still have a saw with a one piece piston.
Any other info can be provided if needed.
Thanks Pat

the clutch thread is l/h so undo it turning the clutch clockwise ( not the drum )
you can remove the plug, rotate the crankshaft up towards tdc - unsert a firly heavy piece of nylon rope to use as a piston stop ( this takes up space between piston and cyl head ) then use a steel punch to rtote the clutch clockwise ( couple of good hits not heaps of tiny ones they are no good ) clutch should come off

hope this helps
