If you still cannot connect to the internet after this, please try registering Internet Explorer's DLL files.
Go to Start->Run and copy and paste the following into the Run box and hit OK (go to Start->Run again for each one):

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Sorry, I meant- How am I going to copy 6mb from this PC to the faulty on so I can use the ewido setup?

You have several options.

1) You may spanned the files across a few floppies
2) Burn to CD
3) Use a thumb drive
4) If you one of those new cellular phones, you may even save it to the phone's memory chip

Or you may just skip Ewido for the moment & do the fix without it. It's possible that may free whatever that's blocking your internet connection.

Allrighty... it apppears that wininet.dll, a core file for Windows is missing from your system.

Do a search for wininet.dll in your PC? The original location is C:\Windows\System32\wininet.dll but Windows XP keeps copies of this file in other places.

If you can find another copy of wininet.dll in your computer, copy it to the directory - C:\Windows\system32.

After doing so, you should be able to restore your internet connection.

If you're unable to find a copy from your machine, you will need to extract a copy from your XP CD. This is not as good as the original version since Windows may have updated itself with a newer version than the one you have in the CD.

If you're unsure how to extract a copy from the cd, please use this guide from Msoft > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;888017

Legally..NO. It contravenes the EULA with Msoft.

Theoratically speaking, the other person's browser must be Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)
& Operating System must be XP (Service Pack 1)

But I did hear that you can downlaod a copy from here
