I have a fairly new hdd that has suddenly gone bad. When trting to boot it just lights up the hdd useage light and does nothing. I have tried the hdd in another computer and it still doesn't work. I tried putting it in the freezer (heard that this will work), but it didn't do anything. :upset: The drive runs fine so the only thing I can think of to do it try to change out the controller board on the botton with another hdd. Does anyone have any other ideas as I have no backup and need the data on that drive.

Thanks for your help:sigh:

I forgot to mention that it is SATA. I will run a diagnostic right now.

EDIT: The diagnostic has found 6 bad sectors out of the 6 that it has scanned. Should I just take it to have it recovered professionally or is there anything I can do? Or is it recoverable at all?
