hi, i have recently had my motherboard and processor replaced and i have installed the drivers for the audio aswell as making sure the device is enabled in BIOS, but still have no sound any ideas please?

Did you get a disk with the motherboard, if so it should have the drivers you need on it.
I know you said you have installed the sound drivers but was that for a separate soundcard, or do you mean integrated sound?
Look in Sounds & audio devices via the contol panel and on the audio tab, see if yours is the default device for playback.

What sound device are you using? Onboard or a separate soundcard?
I know you've already answered the question, but sometimes people get the terminology wrong which can cause confusion.

If it's a soundcard, you need to disable onboard/integrated sound in the BIOS. If it's onboard, like AC97, you need to enable it in the BIOS.
