xp has to load on start up?


it takes about 2 minutes before i can start running programs

i need help

Look in the Startup tab in msconfig to see if any other programs are loading. Do you need MS Works and sunjavaupdate to run at startup every time?

Please give system spec you may not have enough memory or more memory may help. Will be able to be of more help if we know whats inside the PC.
Is there 2 AVG icons in your system tray? if so uninstall the oldest one. Do this in Add/Remove programs via control panel.
Be careful using the startup tab in msconfig, via run box. Stop only known applications loading leaving zone alarm and AVG.

Both normal at startup. There may even be a third one, AVG7_AMSVR, the Alert Manager Service.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'xp has to load on start up?'

what are your PC specs ?? if you have a 233 mhz cpu and 64 mb ram that would be normal
